ABOUT THE INTEGRATED LEARNING DEPARTMENT
The Integrated Learning Department promotes project-based learning to improve student engagement, understanding, and performance across subject areas. We train and support new and veteran teachers to infuse creativity, technology, and service learning during in-school and after school programming. Our department also collaborates with school districts and community partners to build and sustain positive and healthy school environments.
Integrated Learning Department staff includes experts in arts integration, student wellness, school culture, service learning, after school programming, and innovative integration.
The Integrated Learning Specialist Program (ILSP)
The Integrated Learning Specialist Program fosters innovative teaching and learning through creative arts-based practice. Its purpose is to promote transformative education for learners, teachers, administrators, and communities. ILSP provides educators tools to examine and critique established norms, interrupt systems of inequity, promote social justice and develop new educational pathways to create a better future.
Three 30 hour courses. Each course is offered 3 times each year in various Bay Area locations.
Electives from cultural organizations in the area that support teaching practice.
Integrated Learning Specialist Program Certificate available upon completion of 3 courses & elective requirements.
Continuing Educational Units (CEU’S) available for each of the 30 hour courses through Mills College.
Partial Credits for Lesley University, Integrated Teaching through the Arts Masters.
